Tour Details

This affordable 3-day safari takes you on a safari to Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Tarangire National Park. This safari is specially designed to allow you to experience a short but intense safari in the north of Tanzania. You will experience an unforgettable safari in 3 of the most spectacular game parks in Tanzania.

In the Ngorongoro Crater an incredible amount of wild animals live on a relatively small area. Once a huge active volcano, now it is an area with fertile grasslands that attracts a lot of grazing game – with many hunting animals in their wake. A very good place to spot the Big 5 in Tanzania. Your tour then takes you to Lake Manyara National Park, a large but shallow lake that attracts many flamingos. Finally you travel through the Tarangire National Park. With the exception of the Ngorongoro Crater you will see the most wildlife in Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park is less known than the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro to the general public, which means that you can see many wild animals here and that it is very quiet.

Where and how you spend the night during this camping trip:

You spend the night in a two-person tent that you set up on designated camping pitches. There are (shared) toilet and shower facilities on these pitches. The dome tents are equipped with a built-in mosquito net. You have erected the tents within 10 minutes, dismantled them and stored them back in the truck. You sleep on mattresses that are approximately 5 centimeters thick. We provide a sleeping bag for you ..

The following is included in the travel sum:

  • Airport pickups,
  • overnight stay in a hotel in Arusha before and after the safari,
  • overnight stays in  comfortable double tents (dome tents) ,
  • meals  unless otherwise indicated in the itinerary,
  • transportation on site in a 4×4 safari jeep,
  • guidance by registered guides,
  • entrance to the national parks and safaris and excursions.

Day 1Arusha - Lake Manyara

After you have received a safari briefing from the guide you travel to Lake Manyara National Park. This ride is 130 kilometers and takes approximately 2.5 hours. You will arrive at the lodge around lunchtime. After lunch you will enter Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is an impressive park consisting of a gigantic but shallow lake. The lake covers no less than two-thirds of the park. In this park you will see many animals during your safari, including many elephants and flamingos that live around the lake. With a bit of luck you can also see the “tree climbing lions”, which only occur here.

Day 2Lake Manyara National Park to the Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast you descend 600 meters into the Crater. Here you go on a half-day safari. The Ngorongoro Crater is a popular place to go on safari, because the concentration of wild animals is very high here. No less than 30,000 wild animals live in the Crater. The last of the wild black rhinos live here too. The animals that live here are the wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hippos and elephants. And of course all those wildebeest and zebras also attract many lions of hyenas, cheetahs and leopards. You enjoy a picnic lunch in the Crater and after lunch you travel to the Tarangire National Park. In total you travel 60 kilometers in the morning for 2.5 hours and in the afternoon 155 kilometers for 3.5 hours.

Day 3Tarangire National Park - Arusha

After breakfast you will dive into Tarangire National Park for a morning safari. The Tarangire River flows through this wildlife park and the river attracts many wild animals like a magnet in search of water. Of course, countless hunters are waiting until they can outwit the drinking animals. After lunch you travel back to Arusha where your journey ends.
